Viettel Telecommunications Corporation (Vietnam) has just introduced a new 4G feature phone, named Sumo 4G V1S, which is capable of connecting to popular apps such as YouTube and TikTok. The device comes with a 6-month package and is available for purchase starting from 590,000 VND (~24 USD).
Sumo 4G V1S boasts a 1.77" screen and supports calling on Viettel's newly launched VoLTE platform. It is available in four color options: black, red, dark blue, and green. Additionally, the phone features a Cloud Phone application that enables connectivity to utility apps like weather and entertainment apps such as YouTube and TikTok. Customers can use the Cloud Phone application by registering for a data package with Viettel.
The phone is launched at an opportune time, as the country will soon cease providing services for 2G models. With its integrated 4G, Sumo 4G V1S is an excellent basic phone model from Viettel, offering good connection quality and fast, stable conversations. It is designed to be simple to use, with support for a memory card slot and a compact size, making it suitable for the majority of 4G customers who are hesitant to switch to smartphones, especially elderly customers and children.
Despite its affordable price and "brick" phone design, Sumo 4G V1S stands out for its ability to connect popular applications such as YouTube, TikTok, and Weather Checker. It is expected to be well-received by customers and will aid carriers and customers in transitioning to 4G phones, preparing for the complete shutdown of 2G signals in the near future.
