HMD Kazakhstan announced the imminent start of sales of the new Nokia 125 4G (2024) phone. This model is not yet available on the official HMD website.
Following a shift in its business strategy and Nokia’s apparent indifference toward its brand licensing, HMD Global has initiated a focused effort on promoting its own smartphone brand. This suggests that in certain markets, HMD may gradually phase out the Nokia brand altogether, reserving it solely for the Originals series of feature phones. However, in specific markets where Nokia maintains a strong presence in feature phones and remains profitable, the brand continues to hold significance for HMD.
In light of this, HMD is persisting in the release of Nokia-branded phones marketed as HMD-branded devices in regions such as the EU. To illustrate, subsequent to the launch of the Nokia 108 in China, HMD recently unveiled the Nokia 125 4G, which is being promoted as the HMD 110. This particular model will be accessible in the EMEA and SEA markets, featuring the notable addition of 4G network capability.
In brief, Nokia-branded feature phones are gradually being phased out, representing a strategic decision by HMD.
