Jio has introduced the JioPhone Prima 2, a new 4G phone priced at Rs 2,799 (~33 USD) in India. This Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered feature phone is aimed at enhancing Jio's budget 4G phone offerings. The JioPhone Prima 2 is the successor to the Jio Prima 4G, which was launched last year. Similar to its predecessor, Prima 2 provides access to the suite of Jio apps and now supports UPI payments.
The JioPhone Prima 2 features a 2.4-inch QVGA curved display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It is equipped with a Qualcomm chipset and supports 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
Running on KaiOS, the JioPhone Prima 2 supports essential apps such as YouTube, Facebook, and Google Assistant, along with Jio apps like JioTV, JioCinema, and JioSaavn. The budget phone sports a 0.3MP selfie camera and a rear sensor for capturing emergency pictures.
Additionally, the phone enables UPI payments through the JioPay app and houses a larger 2,000mAh battery compared to its predecessor. With a thickness of 15.1mm and a weight of around 120 grams, the Prima 2 also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports FM Radio.
Available in Luxe Blue with a leatherish finish, the JioPhone Prima 2 can be purchased for ₹2,799 (~33$) from Amazon, JioMart, Reliance Digital, and retail outlets in India.
